Today, Governor Patrick and delegation members focused on a series of meetings with members of the British Parliament and representatives of the government to discuss economic partnership opportunities. Throughout the day, the Governor met with leading members of the British government:
- 8:30 am | David Lammy, Member of the British Parliament
- 10:00 am | Alistair Burt, Deputy Foreign Minister
- 12:30 pm | Simon Burns, Health Minister
- 3:15 pm | David Willetts, Minister of State for Universities and Science
- 4:45 pm | Gregory Barker, Minister of State, Department of Energy and Climate Change.
In the afternoon, Governor Patrick was received on the floor of Parliament’s House of Commons, attending a session of Prime Minister’s Questions, a Parliamentary tradition. Click here to learn more about this session of Prime Minister’s Questions.
Immediately after that, Governor Patrick met with young leaders in Parliament at an event hosted by the British-American Parliamentary Group and Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow.
In the evening, the Governor hosted a debriefing session with all the members of the delegation to wrap up the Mission and discuss the progress the group had made.
