The subject of Elections in Massachusetts is addressed in Title VIII of the Mass. General Laws.

The Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Elections Division provides information on laws and regulations governing the election process. The Division’s robust web presence will link you to interactive voter tools (“Find My Voter Registration Status”, “View my ballot”, “Where do I vote?”), as well as information about early voting, candidates, ballot questions and election officials.

Secretary Galvin’s Election Day Legal Summary “is intended to provide an overview of the Massachusetts General Laws which address some common situations that may arise on Election Day. . . Activities in the polling locations include those provisions that apply to candidates and their observers as well as the rules and regulations pertaining to poll workers.” Reference therein is made to various chapters and sections of the General Laws and the Mass. Code of Regulations, 950 CMR 47 – 950 CMR 60.

The Voter’s Bill of Rights is a summary of election laws of the United States and the Commonwealth prepared by the Secretary as directed by M.G.L. c. 54 § 48A.
