MPTC Randolph Police AcademyDue to the increased demand for recruit officer training, MPTC is reopening the Randolph Regional Police Academy to recruit training.  Here, 58 student officers attend Orientation Friday, April 10, 2015 in preparation of Day One, May 4, 2015.

MPTC has hired Academy Director, Lara Thomas. Lara has enjoyed a more than twenty-five year career in planning, administration and the development of partnerships. She served as Regional Administrator for the Southeastern Regional Services Group, a consortium of 20 municipalities, where she conducted joint procurements, planned and implemented joint training ventures, and assisted in managing millions of dollars in contracts annually.

In her first weeks at MPTC, Lara has been working on getting the Randolph Academy ready for a new class of recruits that will begin on May 4 by working on facility issues, scheduling instructors and curriculum and learning as much as possible from other academy directors and MPTC staff.

Over the next several months Lara will lead these student officers in a comprehensive 870-hour training program that combines classroom instruction, practical exercises, and scenarios designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to excel in the police profession and be an asset to the community. This program emphasizes integrity, professionalism, and community service.
