If you’re trying to find a fun way to get in shape this summer, you’re in luck! There are tons of great opportunities for free exercise programs in Boston this summer, available through the Esplanade Association, from July 8, 2013 until August 30, 2013 — all you need is yourself, a pair of sneakers, and some comfy clothes.

If you’re looking to burn some calories while learning some sweet dance moves, there are some free Zumba classes sponsored by Healthworks, held every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the DCR Hatch Shell. According to the Healthworks website, Zumba is a dynamic fitness class, combining Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow steps to create a fun interval training program.

For those looking for a way to relax and release some tension, Sunset Yoga is being offered every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Arthur Fieldler Field. If you’re eager to extend your yoga experience, there is a free outdoor yoga series being offered by Healthy Yoga Life, on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the Great Lawn of the West End Apartments. For more information on this yoga series, contact Lenore Tsikitas at getlulu2you@gmail.com or contact the studio directly at info@healthyogalife.com or 857-350-4124. This series is open to yogis of all experience levels, and participants should bring a water bottle and either a beach towel or a yoga mat to the class.

There are also a couple of opportunities for higher-intensity workouts, such as CrossFit and Bootcamp. CrossFit is a program geared towards engaging the muscles in ‘functional workouts,’ which target the evolutionary design of the human body. CrossFit workouts are being offered Thursdays at 6 p.m. at the Arthur Fieldler Field, sponsored by Reebok CrossFit Back Bay. Runners and joggers of any level are welcome to join the Marathon Sports Run Club, Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at 671 Boylston Street, where they have the chance to join in on a 3, 5, or 8-mile run with a group. If you’re an early bird looking for an intense and thorough military-style circuit workout, there is a Bootcamp class, sponsored by Athleta and Fitness Together, which will be held Fridays at 7 a.m. at the Arthur Fieldler Field.

There are a ton of other fun exercise opportunities for this summer being offered across the Greater Boston Area with Boston Moves for Health, so be sure to check them out!
