On an earlier blog, we discussed the Department's Tax Fraud Hotline and where to call if someone wished to report an incidence of tax fraud. A reader, "VN," asks if DOR has an e-mail address for fraud reports. The answer is that we don't. The reason? In a word, security. The Department strongly advises against any e-mail containing confidential information. Instead, we urge citizens to call our toll-free Hotline at 1-800 792-5254 or at 617-887-6780.
All tips received on this line are confidential and are checked out. Please leave a voice mail message if no one can get to your phone call right away.

For two years I have been reporting on construction companies, house cleaning individulas, carpenters etc who do not pay any state or federal taxes. They are illegal here and have been doing this for 10 to 12 years, Principly out of Milford, Marlborough, Framingham. I've reported on 15 to 20 and nothing has happened because they are still buying new caws/trucks, taking vacations in Disney etc. (Yes you can fuly domestically and be illegal with a valid Brazil/Mexico etc passport)
Should I ask them for some client names so that the DOR can call the clinets and verify income?
Seems like transitional assistance, Mass Health, FASA, does not care since they do not ask for tax forms and completely ignore the fact that anyone can get a TIN number to report taxes on.
How can I report someone anonymously? Whenever I call the hotline I'm told to leave my name and number and someone will call me back?
email us at dormedia@dor.state.ma.us
How are people able to get away with renting their summer homes and not pay sales tax? Sites such as vrbo.com and homeaway.com don't do anything. I'm surprised the state allows this when this would be a great revenue for the state.
How do I report a business that has knowingly not collected sales tax on tens of thousands of dollars for merchandise that the customer pays the invoice and has been doing so for almost 20 years.? Can I report it anonymously?

How long does the process take after reporting?
My son's father currently owes a lot of back child support. He has already had his license taken away and I end up having to go to court every few months for a delinquency hearing (which he never ends up bringing the owed back pay or ANY money for that matter) and things continue just as they were before court. Since he's been ordered to pay child support. (2011) he has not filed his taxes. He doesn't do it so he can avoid having them taken by the DOR and given to me. I wrote the IRS and told them he hasn't filed his taxes but all they did was send him a letter that said failure to file and they didn't mention anything about the years before either. What should I do or who should I contact. Another reason why he didn't file is to hide his income from the court. Please help..
Please call the Problem Resolution Office 617-626-3833
I'm trying to contact the DOR. No one ever answers the numbers above. I've tried for 2 weeks. All I'm looking for is a tax fraud form from the state of MA to report this. I have tried several other phone numbers and no one seems to know if a fraud form exists. The IRS has one I would think MA would also have one. Any help on this. Does anyone know of a MA tax fraud form number?
I think the idea of the Hotline was to leave a message for confidentiality reasons . If you'd like to talk to someone, please call our Criminal Investigations Bureau…… 617-626-3210 thanks!
