The Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is announcing that it has implemented a new process that can be used by customers to schedule virtual suspension reinstatement hearings and to conveniently upload required supporting hearing documentation. The new scheduling tool was developed to provide customers with service options that are flexible and convenient, to increase the number of available hearings that can be held virtually each week, and to continue the RMV’s ongoing focus on safe distancing to ensure the safety and well-being of customers and staff.

MassDOT Announces the 2021-2022 Safe Routes to School Signs and Lines Program

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), through its Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program, is pleased to announce the launch of its 2021-2022 Signs and Lines Program. The Program provides design services and up to $6,000 in construction funding for up to five municipalities for low-cost infrastructure projects around statewide public elementary and middle schools. Eligible low-cost projects include signage and pavement markings to improve safety and accessibility along key walking and biking routes to a school.

Colleen Ogilvie Named RMV Registrar of Motor Vehicles

Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Secretary and CEO Jamey Tesler today announced the appointment of Colleen Ogilvie to the position of Registrar of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), a position she has held in an interim capacity since January 21, 2021. Registrar Ogilvie has served in various capacities at the RMV over the course of a 30-year career, beginning as a Customer Service Representative on a counter at the since-closed Beverly Service Center, and most recently as Deputy Registrar for Operations where she oversaw many of the RMV’s back-office identity and vehicle credentialing and technology functions.

Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is pleased to announce that the replacement of the I-90 eastbound bridges over Parkerville Road in Southborough and Flanders Road in Westborough was successfully completed ahead of schedule this morning at approximately 4:00 a.m. All lanes on I-90, Parkerville Road and Flanders Road are now open for travel.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will replace the I-90 eastbound bridge over Parkerville Road in Southborough and Flanders Road in Westborough from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6 to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 9. Eastbound traffic will be shifted through a median crossover to the westbound side of I-90. Travel will be reduced to two lanes in each direction and opposing traffic separated by a barrier.

Final Statewide Exit Renumbering Work on I-290 and I-395

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will begin installation of the new milepost-based signs at all exits along Interstate 290 and Interstate 395, between Marlborough and Webster, on Sunday, August 8, 2021. This is the final corridor to be completed under the Statewide Exit Renumbering Project. The sign installation operations, which will take place nightly during overnight hours from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day, are anticipated to be completed in approximately 2 weeks.
