MassDOT Aeronautics Division Administrator Chris Willenborg and Aviation Planner Steve Rawding on November 15 visited Westfield-Barnes Airport to lead a tour for the 4th and 5th graders of St. Mary's Elementary School.
The tour consisted of a presentation regarding career opportunities and how airports prepare for natural disasters.
Following the presentation, the students visited the Massachusetts Army National Guard Helicopter Facility and AirFlyte where they learned about helicopters and business jets.
During the tour, the students had an opportunity fly the MassDOT Aeronautics Division's flight simulator- a fun learning experience for the kids.
