Route 79 Southbound Roadway Open, June 30, 2016MassDOT contractors in Fall River have reached another milestone with the opening of the new Route 79 southbound roadway.

The temporary off-ramp from Route 79 South to South Davol Street has been closed. Southbound traffic from Davol Street will continue to use South Davol Street between the U-turn and Central Street. This is the final configuration of these roadways.

MassDOT urges drivers to use caution during this transition period. Drivers who are traveling through construction zones should expect delays and reduce speed while approaching and traveling through the area.

For more, please visit the project website.  For questions or to report issues related to construction, please call the project hotline at 781-774-0441 or email route79project@state.ma.us.
