MassDOT Formal_LogoMassDOT has announced lane closures for the Route 2/Crosby’s Corner Reconstruction Project beginning on Sunday, August 21.

From August 21 to September 3, daily lane closures will occur along the eastbound side of Route 2 between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

On the westbound side, lane closures will occur from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

All scheduled work could be delayed or extended due to inclement weather.

The closures will allow the contractor to begin construction at the end of the old Cambridge Turnpike and pour cement on Mary’s Way. Drainage work is also scheduled for nearby service roads and Route 2.

There will be no lane closures from 12 PM on Friday, September 2 through 6:30 AM on Tuesday, September 6 due to the Labor Day holiday.

The work is part of the $42 million project to reconstruct the section of Route 2 from Bedford Road to Sandy Pond Road, including a grade separated interchange at Crosby’s Corner.
