Ford Truck Restored by Students, Secretary Davey, October 21, 2014A 1947 Ford dump truck with the proud historic logo “Massachusetts Department of Public Works” is now being restored by students at Bristol/Plymouth Regional Technical School in Taunton.

MassDOT Secretary of Transportation Richard Davey visited the school to check on the students’ work and the status of the 68-year old truck. The oldest Highway Division truck has been under mechanical restoration for several years by volunteers of the District 5 office.

MassDOT partnered with the vocational school to give the students the opportunity to work on this piece of transportation history. Secretary Davey toured the facility with school administrator Alex Magalhaes and spoke to students and faculty about automotive restorations and future relationships between MassDOT and the vocational school.  Good work, students!
