A day on the MBTA in less than five minutes video was developed following the release to the public last month by the Executive Office of Transportation of the public detailed scheduling and geographic data the MBTA submitted for use in the Google Transit Trip Planner.  The MBTA made this data public in a format that is converted into the industry-standard Google Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) using existing scheduling software.  The data release allows third-party developers to create useful applications and scheduling tools for riders at no cost to government, vastly improving customer service.

The video developer is here.  An MBTA/MBCR Commuter Rail version is here.
