Wednesday April 1, 6:00 PM, Beverly High School, Auditorium, 100 Sohier Rd

MassDOT, MBTA and project contractor HNTB Corporation representatives will join area officials to discuss the rehabilitation and replacement of the Beverly Drawbridge that carries the Rockport and Newburyport Commuter Rail Line over the Danvers River.  In particular, this meeting will discuss the project’s required 21 day train service shutdown which is anticipated for April 2017.

The second contract requires the 21 day train service shutdown in April 2017 to complete the full replacement of the swing span superstructure.

The rehabilitation/replacement of the Beverly Drawbridge will include rehabilitation of the approach spans consisting of concrete pile repairs, along with full replacement of the steel superstructure swing span including replacement of mechanical components which include the hydraulic rail system, bridge wedges, and swing span motor and mechanisms.
