MassDOT has announced that on Monday, February 6, the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles New Bedford Service Center will open its new location in New Bedford, which features a customer-friendly design with a larger seating area, hundreds of public parking spaces and is fully accessible.
The address of the new Service Center location is:
212 Theodore H. Rice Boulevard, New Bedford Industrial Park, New Bedford, MA 02740
The Service Center’s hours will be:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Thursday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
On Friday, February 3, the RMV’s customer service location on Union Street in New Bedford closes for good at 5:00 p.m.
The new Service Center at 212 Theodore H. Rice Boulevard is larger, (a total of 9,024 square feet) than the Union Street location and will have approximately 330 shared public parking spaces. There will be nine (9) upgraded workstations for the public seeking to conduct specific transactions and there will be two (2) registration-only workstations.
