Green Line ExtensionMassDOT and the MBTA are hosting a series of neighborhood public meetings to provide details about noise and retaining walls proposed for segments of the Green Line Extension Project. Please join us at these meetings to learn about what is proposed in your neighborhood!

The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn, 30 Washington Street in Somerville.
Served by MBTA Orange Line (Sullivan Square) and Bus Routes 80, 86, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 95, 101, 104, 105,109, and CT2.

Tuesday, January 14, 2014 6:00 – 8:00 PM: Washington Street to Medford Street(includes Washington Street Station)
The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn, 30 Washington Street in Somerville.

The meeting will take place at St. Clement School, 579 Boston Avenue in Medford.

Baker-Polito Administration Advances Mystic River Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge Project posted on Oct 22

Governor Charlie Baker today announced that the Baker-Polito Administration has committed to completing the design, permitting, and construction of the Mystic River Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge project, once constructed, will provide a connection from Draw Seven Park near the MBTA Assembly Station in the City of Somerville to the City of Everett next to the Encore Boston Harbor Resort, enhancing mobility and access for residents while linking communities within the Northern Strand and Mystic River trail network. The announcement was made by Governor Baker, Energy, and Environmental Affairs Secretary Kathleen Theoharides, Transportation Secretary Jamey Tesler, Gaming Commission Chair Cathy Judd Stein, and state and local officials in the Cities of Everett and Somerville.

MassDOT Stresses Importance of Driving Safety During Teen Driver Safety Week

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is underscoring the importance of speaking with teenagers about safe driving behaviors during this 14th Annual National Teen Driver Safety Week. Adults are encouraged to specifically discuss traveling at or below the speed limit, wearing a seatbelt, putting cellular phones away, using turn signals, driving sober, and always looking at the road ahead. The U.S. Department of Transportation has statistics which show in 2019, almost 2,400 teens in the United States aged 13 to 19 were killed from injuries suffered in motor vehicle crashes.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is alerting drivers to the October 20, 2021, start of additional field testing for the viability of allowing buses to travel in the breakdown lane of I-93, between I-95 and Somerville.
