Haverhill Board Walk Ribboncut 16oct09 State, local, and MassHighway officials joined ribbon cutting ceremonies today for the grand opening of the Haverhill Merrimack River Boardwalk in downtown Haverhill.  

The $1.3 million project rebuilt the existing walkway and added a new segment, including trees, benches, and ornamental lighting, along with repaving of a nearby parking lot. 

The extended boardwalk provides a strong visual and physical link between the Merrimack River and Haverhill's downtown business area.
