This heating season will be the most expensive on record for those residents who use heating oil to warm their homes. If you look at recent pricing data for Massachusetts, it’s easy to see that heating oil prices have gone up over the past few years in comparison with natural gas prices, which have actually dropped.

“Home MPG” Provides Easy-to-Grasp Energy Score

Home MPG – a cooperative initiative between DOER and Mass Save – provides a no-cost Energy Performance Score (EPS) that rates the building’s energy characteristics – rather than occupants’ life-style – much like a vehicle MPG rating, and allows comparison between area homes based on the structures’ expected energy use and carbon emissions.
