As new college students arrive in Massachusetts, we thought we’d point out a few resources on Massachusetts landlord-tenant law that may prove helpful.

The Attorney General’s Guide to Massachusetts Landlord-Tenant Rights is a handy 13-page pamphlet on Massachusetts law and additional sources of information.

Tenant Rights and Responsibilities from the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, summarizes every step from choosing an apartment through moving out.

The Trial Court Law Libraries’ Massachusetts Law About Landlord and Tenant links you to many sources of information on particular issues, such as Security Deposits, Eviction, Water, Heat and more.  And remember, you can always Ask a Law Librarian if you can’t find the information you need. We’re here to help!
