“If it isn’t on YouTube, it might as well have never happened.”- Gordon Korman

Videos, Videos, Videos!

In our What’s New at DOR update we highlighted our MassTaxConnect video tutorials as well as four videos to guide you through 2022’s filing season. Since the tutorials launched, we provided both English and Spanish subtitles for every video. Subscribe to DOR’s YouTube channel to be alerted when a new video is posted.

We have some video updates from Child Support Enforcement and the Division of Local Services.

Child Support Enforcement (CSE)

Our Child Support team has been busy breaking down important subject matters such as Paternity, Case Conferencing, and Modification into an easy and digestible format in 2021. The Paternity and Modification videos are available with Spanish narration and captioning. All CSE-related videos are available on the CSE DOR YouTube playlist.

Establishing PaternityEstableciendo Paternidad: Learn about what paternity is and why it is important to establish paternity.

Case Conferencing: Case Conferencing is a way to meet with DOR virtually to discuss your child support case and enter agreements for support orders. You attend the virtual case conference instead of going to court in person due to COVID-19.

ModificationModificación de la Orden: Did you know that DOR may be able to help you request changes to your child support or health insurance order? You can ask the court to make your order higher or lower. A change to your support order is called a modification. Only the court can modify a support order, but DOR might be able to help you ask the court for a modification.

Division of Local Services (DLS)

Our Division of Local Services has so many training videos available that they launched their own YouTube channel in early 2020. Subscribe to the DLS channel on YouTube as well as City & Town so you don’t miss an update. The three most recent hot topic video playlists are linked below.

What’s New in Municipal Law 2021: This presentation consists of narrated videos discussing recent cases related to municipal finance and municipal law.

Assessments, Abatements, and Appeals:  Includes an overview of Assessments, Abatements, and Appeals, Applications to Assessors for Abatements, Procedures for Granting or Denying Abatements, Appealing Assessors’ Decisions on Abatements, and Appealing Procedures.

Property Tax Classification: Includes a brief history, Classifying Property, The Classification Hearing, Role of the Assessor, and Information Resources.

DOR will continually update stakeholders as needed with video presentations on topics from our Tax, Child Support and Local Services divisions.
