The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is asking the public to plan ahead this Fourth of July, and to expect increased holiday travel. If driving, plan for trips utilizing MassDOT’s many “real time” travel tools, and if taking public transportation, to check holiday schedules in regard to your trip.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is pleased to announce the replacement of the I-90 westbound bridge over Cordaville Road in Southborough has been successfully completed. All lanes on I-90 and on Cordaville Road reopened for travel today at 2:40 a.m., after being closed on Friday, June 25, when weekend construction activities began.
Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is replacing the I-90 westbound bridge over Cordaville Road in Southborough. This work will occur from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25 to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28. Westbound traffic will be shifted through a median crossover to the eastbound side of I-90. Travel will be reduced to two lanes in each direction and opposing traffic separated by a barrier. Cordaville Road will be closed under the bridge and through traffic detoured from approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday to 5:00 a.m. on Monday.
Amtrak, in conjunction with MassDOT, is re-launching the second round trip of the Valley Flyer on July 26, 2021, a state supported seven day a week passenger train. The train service was reduced on March 30, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic as members of the public were quarantining and traveling less frequently.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the Cities of Medford and Somerville announce the implementation of a pilot morning peak hour dedicated bus lane on Mystic Avenue. Painting and signage along the entire stretch – from Main Street in Medford to Wheatland Street in Somerville – was completed in early June, and the bus lane will officially become operational as of 6:00 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2021.
