The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is pleased to announce that the relocation of the movable zipper barrier and other work to prepare for the July 23 through July 26 weekend replacement was successfully completed ahead of schedule, and all I-90 travel lanes reopened this morning at 1:50 a.m.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing work this weekend to relocate the movable zipper barrier to prepare for the Woodland Road eastbound bridge replacement on July 23 through July 26. Lanes will be reopened as feasible; however, travelers should expect that the high-speed lane of I-90 east and westbound will be closed throughout the weekend. In addition, the middle lane of I-90 westbound will be closed during off-peak travel times to facilitate this work.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced today the submission of three federal grant applications to the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to seek funding from a federal discretionary grant program to improve travel and safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, rail and public transportation customers across the Commonwealth.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is pleased to announce the I-90 westbound bridge replacements over Parkerville Road in Southborough and Flanders Road in Westborough, which began this past Friday night, have been completed ahead of schedule, and all I-90 and local road travel lanes reopened this morning at 2:20 a.m. The Acceler-8 I-90 Bridge Replacement Project is replacing 8 bridges over 8 weekends this summer between the Route 9 and I-495 interchanges.

Acceler-8 I-90 Bridge Replacement Project: Westbound Bridge Replacement over Parkerville Road in Southborough and Flanders Road in Westborough

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is replacing the Interstate 90 westbound bridge over Parkerville Road in Southborough and Flanders Road in Westborough from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12. Westbound traffic on I-90 will be shifted through a median crossover to the eastbound side of I-90. Travel will be reduced to two lanes in each direction and opposing traffic will be separated by a barrier. Parkerville Road and Flanders Road will be closed under the bridge and through traffic will be detoured from approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12.

Route 18 Weymouth-Abington Improvements Project New Bridge installment

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will be installing the new Route 18 Bridge over the MBTA Kingston/Plymouth Commuter Rail Line in Weymouth. MassDOT is using an innovative approach to expedite the work and minimize impacts. The installation operations will take place over two consecutive weekends in July and will include two phases. The bridge, which was built on-site, will be moved into its final position using a system of horizontal jacks to push the six-million-pound structure into place. This process will be tested from 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, through 4:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19. The new bridge will then be subsequently installed from11:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, through 4:00 a.m. on Monday, July 26.
