The MassDOT Aeronautics Division held the Massachusetts State level judging of the 2015 International Aviation Art Contest, with this year’s theme, “World Air Games”.

The World Air Games will be held in Dubai in 2015. During 12 days, spectators will see world class competitions and air shows with dazzling maneuvers that can only take place above the ground.

Our State winners in each age category are listed below:

Category I ages 6-9- 1st Nate Voss – Fiske School –Lexington, MA ; 2nd Noah Crocker Saint Margaret’s Regional School – Buzzard’s Bay, MA; and 3rd Avery Okon – Saint Margaret’s Regional School – Buzzard’s Bay, MA.

Category II ages 10-13- 1st Jidapa Janpathompong – Fiske School –Lexington, MA; 2nd Emma Dessureasu- Elm Street School – Gardner, MA ; and 3rd Abigail Saner – Elm Street School – Gardner, MA.

Category III ages 14-17- 1st Jefferson Kim- Winchester High School, Winchester, MA.

All State Winning art work from the 3 categories has been forwarded to the National Association of State Aviation Officials in Washington D.C. for National judging in the upcoming months. The national winning art work will then be forwarded to Switzerland to the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale for the international judging.
