Advisory: Acceler-8 I-90 Bridge Replacement Project

Weekend Work Completed Ahead of Schedule

All I-90 eastbound and westbound travel lanes opened at 1:50 a.m.

Reminder: I-90 eastbound bridge replacement over Woodland Road in Southborough scheduled

for the weekend of July 23 through July 26

WESTBOROUGH/SOUTHBOROUGH – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is pleased to announce that the relocation of the movable zipper barrier and other work to prepare for the July 23 through July 26 weekend replacement was successfully completed ahead of schedule, and all I-90 travel lanes reopened this morning at 1:50 a.m.

The project is replacing 8 bridges over 8 weekends this summer between the Route 9 and I-495 interchanges.

MassDOT appreciates your patience during this major infrastructure project.

Details on the upcoming replacement of the I-90 eastbound bridge over Woodland Road in Southborough the weekend of July 23 and other activities the following weekends can be found on the How will I be Impacted? page of the project website.

Replacement of the I-90 eastbound bridge over Woodland Road in Southborough will begin on Friday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. A reminder advisory will be distributed.

If you travel on I-90:

The upcoming work next weekend is to replace the I-90 eastbound bridge over Woodland Road in Southborough. The work will take place from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23 to 5:00 a.m., on Monday, July 26. Traffic will be shifted using the median crossover.

If you use Woodland Road:

Woodland Road under the bridge will be closed and through traffic detoured during this work. Access to residents and businesses on either side of the bridge will be maintained. The Woodland Road detour under the bridge will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m., on Friday, July 23 and end at 5:00 a.m., on Monday, July 26. The Woodland Road detour map can be viewed on the website.

Expect delays and seek alternate routes. Plan ahead by signing up for project emails or checking mass511.com before you leave home.
