Tolling GantryIn late October, MassDOT is scheduled to activate All Electronic Tolling on I-90 and the Boston tunnels. All Electronic Tolling has been in place for vehicles since July 2014 on the Tobin Bridge.

To ensure drivers pay the lowest possible toll rate inside Massachusetts, drivers are encouraged to obtain an E-ZPass MA transponder prior to the launch of All Electronic Tolling.

Drivers can obtain an EZPass MA transponders several ways:

Visit any one of the five Customer Service Centers in Massachusetts:

  • Auburn E-ZPass MA Customer Service Center: 27 Midstate Drive, Auburn, Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Google Map for Directions. Handicapped accessible.
  • East Boston E-ZPass MA Customer Service Center, 145 Havre Street, East Boston: Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday: 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday: Closed.  This building is not currently fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. If you need to visit this location and need assistance to enter the building, there is a service bell at the entrance and visitors can call 877-627-7745 for assistance.
  • Natick E-ZPass MA Customer Service Center, Natick Service Plaza on I-90 Eastbound: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sautrday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday: Closed.  Handicapped accessible.
  • Saugus E-ZPass MA Customer Service Center, inside the Square One Mall, 1202 Broadway, Route 1 South: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday and Monday: Closed. Handicapped accessible.
  • Boston E-ZPass MA Customer Service Center, Haymarket Center at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, 136 Blackstone Street, Boston: Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday: Closed. Handicapped accessible.

Drivers can also obtain an EZ-Pass MA transponder at AAA locations across Massachusetts. To find a location, visit the AAA Web site.

Drivers can also obtain an E-ZPass MA transponder at 19 of the 26 Registry of Motor Vehicles branches in Massachusetts. To find a branch, visit the RMV Web site.

After Labor Day, drivers will be able obtain E-ZPass MA transponder at the I-90 service plazas in Lee and Ludlow.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) in conjunction with Boston Properties (NYSE: BXP) is pleased to announce that new operational and safety improvement modifications have been implemented at the Route 128/Interstate 95 Interchange 43A (Old Exit 27A)/Third Avenue ramp in Waltham. The purpose of this transportation improvement project was to redesign this heavily traveled interchanges and the immediately surrounding area to improve existing traffic flow operations, to enhance safety for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists, and to provide improved access for the future mixed-use development of up to 1.85 million square feet located within the adjacent CityPoint and 1265 Main developments.
