I-91 Interchange 19 Study MassDOT will hold a public meeting to present information and gather input on the I-91 Interchange 19 Study.  The meeting will introduce the study process, provide data and potential improvement options, and allow the public to share their thoughts on the potential improvement options early in the process.

The public meeting will be held on the following date:

Monday, June 14, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Bridge Street School Library, 2 Parsons Street, Northampton

The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM with an informal interactive open house session.  A presentation will begin at 6:45 PM, followed by a discussion period.  MassDOT and members of the study team, led by TranSystems of Boston, Massachusetts, will be available at the meeting to discuss the study and answer questions.

The study begun in spring 2009, seeks options to improve traffic congestion in the I-91 Interchange 19 area, particularly on Route 9.  The project includes a traffic analysis, roadway design, environmental analysis, and a large effort to seek community input.  The study considers recently-proposed development projects in the area. The final product can be a completed highway design, several smaller recommended improvements, or a recommendation to make no improvements.

Detailed information for the public meeting is available here.  Additional information on the study can be obtained on the project website.  Other questions or comments may be directed to Bao Lang, MassDOT District 2, at Bao.Lang@state.ma.us.
