Deputy Chief of Operations and Maintenance, Joseph Foti, and HOC Coordinator of Training and Development, Chester Osborne, received commendations for the MassDOT Highway Division work to revitalize signage on Route 128, also known as the Yankee Division Highway. The highway is named in honor of the 26th Infantry Division of the United States Army, formed in 1917 and nicknamed the “Yankee Division” to highlight its New England geographic makeup.

The Yankee Division was sent to Europe in World War I and saw extensive combat action in France. It was sent to Europe in World War II, advancing into Germany and assisting in the liberation of the Gusen concentration camp.

Osborne also was honored for his 20 years of service to the United States Army in active duty and in the reserve. Congratulations to Joe and Chet!
