Overnight Snow Forecasted for Eastern Massachusetts Areas

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time

NWS Map 1-21-22

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is advising travelers that the forecast is calling for inclement weather overnight tonight in various regions across the Commonwealth.  At this time, several inches of snow accumulations are forecasted for Southeastern Massachusetts areas including Barnstable County and Plymouth County and for the North Shore eastern coastal communities including Cape Ann. Snow fall is forecast in these areas, from a coating to a few inches or more, throughout this evening, overnight and during the day tomorrow.

Members of the public are encouraged to plan ahead and check forecasts for their travel routes to destinations.

As the storm necessitates, MassDOT crews will be chemically treating and salting roadways. Drivers should be aware that road conditions may vary from region to region.
